If you enjoy stargazing in your back yard with your family, a trip to a local planetarium or observatory, where you can learn about the world, or observe the clear night sky is a great family outing!

Fujitsu Planetarium (De Anza College, 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino)
This large planetarium offers educational astronomy shows & entertaining laser displays. They also offer unique family oriented shows during public show season (starting September 24th, 2016)

Chabot Space and Science Center (10000 Skyline Blvd, Oakland)
A state-of-the art full-dome digital planetarium with a variety of family oriented shows (recommended for ages 3+).
The hands-on center also offers interactive exhibits, LEGO laboratory, a large screen theater, hands-on activities, three powerful telescopes and more.

Chabot Space Center

Lick Observatory (7281 Mt Hamilton Rd, Mt Hamilton)
Since 1888, Lick has provided UC astronomers with access to world-leading optical-infrared observing equipment. In the last years, it is open to the public, and it is a great place to see the sky. The Main Building features eye-catching, informative exhibits and classes for school age kids.
